Indiana Dunes National Seashore Campground
On Lake Michigan
The 11th anniversary of 9/11, remember those that lost their lives in the crashes in Pennsylvania, The Pentagon and NY City. And remember all those who have fought and died serving our great country.
This not exactly the first time we have been to Lake Michigan but it's the first time on the U.S. side. The National Seashore is probably about 20 miles long with the Indiana Dunes State Park in the middle of it. We opted to stay in the National Park Campground with very large wooded sites and a bathroom with hot water and very nice shower stalls with lots of pressure and plenty of hot water. Our first night there we were able to go to the lake for a gorgeous sunset.
But first we went through Chicago

the sun is setting right over Chicago
The National Park Beach is VERY DOG FRIENDLY
But no dogs allowed on the State Beach
I couldn't decide which pictures to put in and which to leave out
The next day a drive to the west and a great place for our picnic lunch
This is a little inlet off of Lake Michigan
Long sandy beach with people swimming and sunbathing or just walking in the sand
Buddy and I walked out to the end of the pier
He was trying to get to the ducks down below
Look at that cute little butt, it was wiggling up a storm.
Lots of hiking trails, Buddy is a good hiking partner,
The National Park here is very DOG FRIENDLY
